It takes a village – our partnership with Roo’s Wish
Our primary fundraiser, Via Colori, allows us to network and partner with some amazing charities! One of those is Roo’s Wish. Roo’s Wish raises funds and in-kind donations to help find luggage for foster children. In addition- they remodel DCBS visitation rooms, collect stuffed Christmas stockings for children in care, advocate for foster parents and so so much more! Their mission is to improve the journey of a foster child any way possible! And they do! Every single day!
In the past 12 months, with the help of the AMAZING COMMUNITY, Roo’s Wish was able to keep the local DCBS office stocked with enough luggage and blankets that they NEVER once ran out: 6,000 pieces. In addition, they have donated 1,300 stuffed Christmas stockings, 100 jackets & hoodies, 300 pairs of shoes, night lights, socks and much more! They also remodeled 12 foster visitation rooms in 5 different counties!
Furthermore Roo’s Wish also has this to say:
“Imagine being a child who knows nothing, but abuse or neglect.
A child who lays in bed at night and wonders why all the other kids in their class have forever mommies and daddies who love them, but they don’t. That is the sad reality for over 10,000 kids in Kentucky. You have the ability to change that for a child! You don’t have to be perfect to be a foster parent, you just have to have patience and love! Think of the difference love, support, and stability could make for a child. Be that difference!”
